Intake & job creation
Capture survey type, property details, location, purpose, expected delivery and supporting documents in a structured request.
The experience behind Boundora came from working closely with a land-surveying business, mapping how projects actually move through the company, and translating that process into a connected platform used for real jobs.
A surveying job touches multiple people, files, approvals and commercial decisions before the final survey reaches the client. The system had to support that reality instead of reducing every project to a generic task list.
Requests needed to become jobs. Surveying professionals needed to review opportunities and submit proposals. Project work had to move through defined survey stages. Files had to stay attached to the right job. Clients needed visibility. Payments had to follow the commercial workflow.
Product + workflow discussion with the team and surveying stakeholders.
Instead of starting from screens and features, the project started by breaking the surveying process into the stages, decisions and handoffs the business actually uses.
The platform connected customer requests, surveyor proposals, assignments, workflow stages, documents, communication and payments instead of treating them as separate systems.
Capture survey type, property details, location, purpose, expected delivery and supporting documents in a structured request.
Allow surveying companies to review opportunities, submit price and turnaround, and keep proposal history tied to each job.
Coordinate clients, surveying professionals, project managers and freelancers with role-specific views and responsibilities.
Track work through research, drafting, field work, review and delivery with clear status and reopen/resubmission flows.
Keep deeds, PDFs, uploaded documents and project deliverables attached to the relevant job and stage.
Connect commercial terms, invoice creation and Stripe-backed payment workflows to the project rather than managing them separately.
These screens are from a working SurveySource environment. They show the surveying-company side of the workflow rather than a marketing prototype.
Some names, contact details and records shown in the product screenshots are test/demo data.
The project required an end-to-end digital platform: workflow design, role-based applications, backend APIs, file handling, payment logic, cloud infrastructure, notifications and the day-to-day production fixes that come with a real operating system.
The early platform moved beyond internal demos and into real customer use.
Survey work worth more than $10,000 moved through the platform during early adoption.
Job data, proposals, stages, files and commercial activity remained connected around the same project.
Proposals, active work, files, invoices and payment status were handled in job context instead of as unrelated processes.
Generic project management is not enough. Survey work has specific stages, files, stakeholders and exceptions that need to be modeled deliberately.
Files need job context. A CAD file, deed or PDF is much more useful when the system knows which job, stage and client it belongs to.
Client communication is part of operations. Status, proposals, payment and delivery should not live outside the workflow.
Start with the bottleneck. The best system does not replace everything on day one. It connects the part of the operation creating the most friction, then expands.
